The purpose of the Friendfinder Inc site is to make it as easy as possible for you to meet people, using the power of the internet. At Friendfinder Inc, you'll find a community of people using the site as a tool to make connections and find partners for dating, romance, friendship, and a variety of encounters. To find your match, we offer several powerful features, that allow you to narrow your search so you can find exactly the kind of person you, are looking for. On various occasions, we also add new features to make your time at Friendfinder Inc a successful and fun experience.



Is Friendfinder Inc really free?

Friendfinder Inc offers a variety of membership packages. Standard membership is free. As a Standard member, you can chat, send instant messages, and browse through our worldwide database of profiles. You also have access to our interactive Magazine, where you can post or answer advice questions or post poetry and articles. There's plenty to do as a Standard member! If you decide you want to speed up your search, consider one of our premium memberships. Premium memberships offer far more privileges and cost as little as 25 cents (or less!) per day.

How do I know if the members on this site are not fake?

Friendfinder Inc only requires a valid email address in order to become a member of this site, as you will not be able to obtain your password without one. Should any member of the site be found guilty of abuse or harassing other members, we’ll take the lead in finding the person who is causing the problems; by tracing that member's ISP (Internet Service Provider), we can hopefully find the person. Needless to say, such people will be permanently banned from membership on this site. However, our service is otherwise confidential. There’s no way we can do extensive background checks on members, and we expect you to understand that we cannot take responsibility for any pain, damage or suffering that arises from your use of this site.

If you feel that a member is using Friendfinder Inc for abusive or fraudulent purposes that are not in adherence with our Terms of Use, please email our Abuse Team their username so that we may investigate.



What is the difference between entering as a guest and entering as a member?

Friendfinder Inc works on a membership system so that we are able to keep data files that contain your profile information and other information such as your "Hotlist", etc. Guests may enter the site and browse the listings, but in order to post a listing and use the many features available on the site, you must become a member.

Network is an online social networking community connected to Friendfinder Inc personals. You can view photos and profiles of your friends, and see how you're connected to friends of friends.



How does it work?

Friendfinder Inc Network allows you to create a personal and private networking community where you can network through your friends, their friends, and so on. You can invite anyone with an email address to be a friend of your network, or you can invite people directly from Friendfinder Inc personals.



Is Friendfinder Inc Network only for dating?

Friendfinder Inc Network is popular with singles that are looking for romance or even marriage. However, you can also create other types of social networking, like friendship circles, meeting other couples, starting special interest groups, pen pals, and so on.



Should I use Friendfinder Inc Network if I am not single?

Sure, because you're connected to Friendfinder Inc, you can use Network to make friends or pen pals from all over the world, or if you want to play "Cupid," you can help your single friends meet people.

How do I request my password from the site?

  1. Go to Friendfinder Inc.
  2. Click on the "Member login" link in the navigation bar.
  3. Click on the "Forgot login?" link.
  4. Enter your Email or Username in the "Request Password" text field.
  5. Click the "Submit" button.
  6. Check your email address for the password.



How do I change my password?

In order to change your password:

  1. Log into the site using your username and password.
  2. Click on the "My Account" link.
  3. Click on the "Password" link in the Account section.
  4. Enter your old and new passwords in the appropriate boxes and click on the "Update" button.



How do I change my email address?

To change your email address:

  1. Log into the site using your username and password.
  2. Click on the "My Account" link.
  3. Click on the "Email" link in the Account section.
  4. Type your new email address and password in the appropriate boxes and click on the "Update" button.
Once you've changed your email address, it must be verified. We do this by sending a new password to the new email address you entered. Once you've logged in using the new password, you will regain full access to the site.



BILLING QUESTIONS:

How do I turn off auto-renewal?

The Auto Renew feature will automatically renew your membership it isabout to expire. Your account will be renewed using the credit card you have on file on your Billing History & Credit Card Info page. You can update your credit card information on your "Billing History & Credit Card Info" page so that you will always have a current credit card on file with us.

If you do not wish to automatically renew your Premium subscription, or other product:

  1. Log into the site using your username and password.
  2. From your member homepage, click on the "My Account" link from the top menu.
  3. Click the "Billing History & Credit Card Info" link in the Account section.
  4. At the top of the page you will see product status.
  5. To turn off your auto renew, click "OFF" under product status.



Why was my credit card denied?

There are many reasons why an order comes back denied by your financial institution. Most common are:

  • insufficient funds available (tax is not added to the listed price)
  • your card has expired
  • your billing address does not match the card statement.
  • cvv/cvv2 number incorrect or incomplete

How do I turn on/off my Cupid email?

To turn on/off Cupid Reports:

  1. Log into the site using your username and password.
  2. Click on the "My Account" link.
  3. Click on the "Email Preferences" link.
  4. You can turn off several different types of email services from this form.



What is the "Hotlist" feature? How do I use it?

It’s easy to create an online “Hotlist” of members that you like. Every profile has a button that says, "Add to Hotlist". Clicking this button will add that member to your Hotlist.

You can also add members to your Hotlist through your [Cupid /Love/Dove] Report, and through search and browse results. Members on your Hotlist are linked to their profile pages.

You can enter and save private notes about Hotlisted members (e.g. what you like about them). To do so, simply click “Add Comment” where it appears on the left side of your Hotlist page. After you add your comments, click “Add Comment” and the notes will be saved until you “Edit” or “Remove” them.

You can remove members from your Hotlist by clicking on the checkbox next to their username, then clicking on the "Delete Checked" button.

Are profiles censored? Is there any limit to what I can put in my profile?

All member profiles must be reviewed and approved when they are originally created as well as when they are modified. Member profiles must abide by our Terms of Use, which are available for review from the Terms of Use link on the footer in our site pages.

We reserve the right to refuse any profile or photograph that we feel is inappropriate for the site its posted to. Also, we ask that you do not put any personal information in your profile, including but not limited to: your home address, a personal beeper, cell or telephone number, a "real" email address or personal web address. Any repeat offenders of this rule will be banned from using the sites until such information is removed from their profile. Because this is a violation of our Terms of Use, repeat offenses may result in the termination of your accounts without warning or refunds.



How long does it take to have my profile posted?

All profiles and photos are subject to our approval process and may take anywhere between 24-72 hours to review. Any photos or profiles that do not adhere to our Terms of Use or are deemed unacceptable will be denied.



What are some tips to remember when creating my profile?

The number of replies you get from other members will depend greatly on the quality of your profile. Here are some helpful tips:

Upload a photograph: People like to see who they're writing to: profiles with photographs get up to ten times more clicks as profiles without them. You can upload a photo from a digital camera or a scanner. If you don't have access to a scanner, we can do if for you (for a nominal fee). See the "How do I upload photos?" section for details.

Create a catchy title for your profile: When members search listings on the site, the title of your profile is listed next to your name. As a general rule, profile titles like "Hi!" do not catch people's attention, where as more personalized titles do.

Think before you write: Feel free to write as much as you want in our essay portions of the sign-up pages. Tell other members about yourself: your likes and dislikes, things you enjoy doing, what line of work you're in, what your personality is like, even your hopes and dreams. The better your profile describes you, the more likely it is that others will read and respond to it. If you can't think of anything right away, you can always add more later. And don't forget to fill out the optional profile questions - these will also help other members get to know you even better.



How do I temporarily turn my listing off?

To "turn off" your profile so that other members cannot see it, log into the site with your username and password. Then:

  1. Click on the "My Account" link in the top navigation bar of the site page.
  2. Click the "Profile Availability" link in the Account section.
  3. Select the "Make my profile temporarily turned off" radio button.
  4. Click the update button next to that section.



How do I permanently remove my listing and delete my account?

NOTE: Please make sure you have auto-renewal turned off before removing your profile.

To permanently delete your profile:

  1. Log into the site with your username and password.
  2. Click on the "My Account" link at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the "Delete Account" link in the Account section.
  4. Click on the "Permanently Delete My Entire Account" link.
  5. Enter your password and click the "Yes, delete my account" button.
CAUTION: Once you click on the "Yes, delete my account" button, you account and profile will be instantly and permanently deleted! There is no way to recover or restore your account. Please consider this before making your selection.



How do I update my profile?

To update your profile:

  1. Log into the site using your username and password.
  2. Click on the "My Account" link.
  3. There are three links in the Profile section that you can use to update your profile: "Basic Profile", "Personal Information", and "Physical Information".
  • "Basic Profile" contains the most crucial information about you (name, birthday, age, location, etc.).
  • "Personal Information" helps to fill in the details about you, such as your level of education, occupation, and marital status.
  • "Physical Information" contains vital data about your features, from height and body type to hair color.
Note: All profiles and auto replies are subject to our approval process and may take anywhere between 24-72 hours to review.

How do I contact members?

  1. Log into Friendfinder Inc.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Click the "Login" button.
  4. Locate the profile you wish to contact.
  5. Once on the member’s profile page, scroll down to the middle of the page to find the email form "Send user an email" or click the "Send an email" link located in the "Interact" section.
  6. Enter a subject and message.
  7. Click on the checkboxes for "if you want to save a copy of a message", "attach a copy of your profile", "get emailed when your message is read", or "invite the member to your network" features. (Optional)
  8. Fill in the Confirm Number.
  9. Click the "Click to send the above message" button.



How do I search for other members?

  1. Log into Friendfinder Inc.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Click the "Search" link in the navigation bar.
  4. You can search for a member’s handle (or "username"), or you can use the form available to search by criteria you selected.
  5. Click the "Search" button.
  6. If you would like to save the search setting enter a title for the search and click "Save" (Premium members only)



How do I get email from other members?

When you get mail, it will appear in your free Message Center. To open your Message Center:

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click on the Inbox button on the top navigation bar.
  3. This will open your Inbox and show you any messages that you have received. (CC/Copied messages can be found in your Sent Messages folder)



How do I request my password from the site?

  1. Go to Friendfinder Inc.
  2. Click on the "Member login" link in the navigation bar.
  3. Click on the "Forgot login?" link.
  4. Enter your Email or Username in the "Request Password" text field.
  5. Click the "Submit" button.
  6. Check your email address for the password.



What if it says my password is incorrect?

There could be several reasons why your password and username are not matching up. Try using your browser's "back" button to return to the log in screen. Clear the fields and enter your information again. If this still does not work, we suggest that you use the automated password/username lookup form. Other causes could include:

  • Your account has been deleted during our review process. Please check your email inbox for a notice regarding this matter.
  • You've updated your account and have a new password. Please check your email inbox for your new password and try to log-in again.
  • Please clear your browsers cache, and make sure you aren't using a Bookmark or Hotlist link.
